David was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 1991.

David has lectured on the Law Society's Professional Courses and as part of the CPD programme on topics including:

  • Acting for Developers in New Residential Schemes,
  • Sale and purchase of Residential Tax Designated Properties,
  • Sale and Purchase of Second Hand Units in Managed Schemes,
  • Mixed Developments,
  • Stamp Duty, in particular, the application of the Revenue Certificates in Deeds.

He practices mainly in the area of Residential and Commercial property, with an emphasis on advising property developers. David is a member of the Law Society's task group reviewing the effect of the Multi Unit Developments Act 2011.

Mel is also a Notary Public for the City and Counties of Dublin, commissioned for life, and is admitted as a Solicitor in the Senior Courts of England and Wales.

 

Mel has lectured and tutored on the Law Society's Professional Courses and as part of the CPD programmes on

ii.  Mixed Developments
iii.  Pitfalls in Conveyancing

He has had articles on residential development schemes published in the Law Society Gazette, and is co-author of
Complex Conveyancing (published jointly by the Law Society and Tottel).

Mel practices mainly in the area of commercial property and banking, with an emphasis on advising property developers and
lending institutions with regard to security, restructuring, and relationships with NAMA.

Mel is a director of several client companies.

Jerry has lectured on the Law Society's Professional Courses and as part of the CPD programme on topics including:

He is also a member of a sub-committee of the Law Reform Commission considering legal structures of
multi-unit developments.
He practices mainly in the area of Corporate Agreements and Commercial property, with an emphasis on advising
developers, hospitals and high net worth individuals.

Conor Cahill

Conor Cahill is a Senior Associate in Sheehan & Company, Solicitors.

Admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 1996.

Qualifications:

  • B.A. (Hons) in Economics (UCD)
  • (Hons) Diploma in Legal Studies (UCD).


Conor heads up the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department.
Conor has a wide and extensive experience in acting for plaintiffs, defendants, and third parties is most areas of commercial and building contract disputes.

Conor has successfully represented clients in all forums including the Courts, Arbitrators, and in State created Tribunals and Commissions of Enquiry.

He recently represented the Plaintiff in a landmark case, and succeeded in having a disqualified director having his period of disqualification lifted this was the first time this was achieved in Ireland.

Admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 1981, holding a BCL from U.C.D.

Practical business experience in various enterprises.

Commenced as Partner in 1982 with Fitzsimons Smyth & Co., Dublin 2, developing an expertise in Commercial and Banking/Currency transactions.

Has represented many multinationals from Silicon Valley and the Pacific  e.g. Sun Microsystems, Xilinx Inc., Korf KG, Quantum Corp., Le Groupe Bull, Matsushita Corporation, Saronix/Kony, Les Laborities Servier among others.

Has completed many transactions over the years in the areas of M&A, IPO's, Venture Funding, Share Purchase Agreements etc.

Over the last 20 years, he has created, structured and sold various property developments in the residential, commercial and retail sectors with various partners, including Bennett Developments.

 

 

Terence Dixon

Terence E. Dixon, Consultant.

Terry has been in practise for 40 years in the Property and Probate field. A former partner in Kennedy & McGonagle Solicitors, Dublin.

Was a council member of the Law Society of Ireland and past President of the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association. Terry was also a member of Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal for ten years.

He is a fellow of the Chartered Institution of Arbitrators (London).

He qualified from the Law Society in 1969 and also has a diploma in psychoanalysis study.
